The sixth annual UNCF Masked Ball is the organization’s signature fundraising event and one of New Jersey's premier social soirées.
Hosted by a diverse group of corporate sponsors and local businesses, it involves celebrities, dignitaries, civic leaders, volunteers, public officials, alumni and others who support UNCF’s mission of investing in America’s future by getting students to and through college.
UNCF assists students across the New Jersey area reach their dream of a college education. New Jersey residents are not the only students to benefit; students from around the country attending colleges across the state also receive financial support and scholarships from UNCF.
The work of UNCF in New Jersey is critical and helps to provide support to the more than 864 students from the state who currently attend UNCF-member institutions. However, for every one student UNCF is able to help, nine others are not afforded support.
Your participation in events such as the Masked Ball allows UNCF to address students' financial obstacles with our scholarship programs and provide support to our member colleges and universities.

Milwaukee's annual UNCF Walk/Run for Education has become an anticipated family-oriented 5K (3.1 mile) walk and certified run for corporate employees, donors, volunteers and friends. This fundraising event was formed to raise funds for UNCF students in the form of scholarships and services. UNCF students attend more than 1,100 colleges and universities. UNCF also supports 37 historically black colleges and universities.
The race ends at Veterans Park on the lakefront, where the fun keeps going. Each year, there is a reunion atmosphere as the children enjoy activities just for them, entertainment for everyone and of course, awards for the runners and participating groups. A mini health fair will be in progress, and everyone enjoys the great picnic in the park.

This year’s theme, Purposeful Disruption, will engage faculty, staff and executive leadership from more than 40 institutions on purposeful approaches to leveraging disruptions in higher education.
Sponsored by the Lilly Endowment, Inc., with generous support from the Walmart Foundation for the Data Institute, the two-and-a-half day convening will feature keynote speakers from the higher education sector and beyond. Speakers will address the needs of the 21st Century workforce, large-scale change, and a rapidly changing, technologically-driven world.
The Institute will feature three data session formats including Technology Boot Camps, Bring Your Own Data sessions and Work Without Borders sessions. The content-rich program, will bring together leading industry experts on data management and analytics to help institutions gain 1) a better understanding of how to effectively use data technology on their respective campuses; 2) knowledge on how to best execute data analysis projects and produce useful reports; and 3) tools to develop necessary relationships to facilitate cross-campus data sharing and communication.

In 2017, Hurricane Harvey forced us to hold a Virtual Walk for Education. This year, we're back on track (literally) and ready to walk!
You can impact our local community by raising funds for education. Walk participants help to save our historical black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and provide financial assistance for the children from our community.
Facts about the walk:
- Began in 1985, with Olympic gold medal winner Carl Lewis serving as Honorary Chair for sixteen years.
- Has raised more than $5 million since its inception and $230,000 in 2016.
- Draws more than 1,600 walkers from corporations, community organizations, and individuals from the greater Houston area.
- Formerly held at both Sam Houston Park and McGregor Park.
- The UNCF walk is one of our most cost efficient events; its expense ratio never exceeds 10 percent.
